Swimming with Dolphins
Monday, 22 February 2010
Swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura yesterday was spectacular and one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. The dolphins pretty much swam past us without much notice, but it was amazing to have them swimming under and around us. We were in a pod of about 500! Everywhere we looked there were dolphins jumping and swimming. Also saw a huge school of baracuda sharks, lots of albatross and some beached seals (resting). Finished the day off with some yummy crayfish.

Looks like your having the time of your life! I am so jealous, I have wanted to go to Australia/New Zealand for years but have never been able to make it work. Now you’ve re-ignited my wish to get down there and to have more fun in general!

Dear Amanda,
It’s so nice in Kaikura! Took my mother on a boat tour to see the orcas and the Hector’s dolphins. Another time we tried to swim with the dolphins. They were around us, but I couldn’t see them. Claus said they were almost touching. The dolphins are so cute.
Did you get to see the little blue penguins on the South Island?
Couldn’t see your blog in Collingwood. The connection was abysmally slow.
I looked at some ideas of the Happiness Project, but have not read the book. Happiness is increased when you are with friends! Looks like you’re doing that well.
Time to enjoy a bath and be happy there. When are you back?
